SueMo: A Dance Experience is a newly formed dance company in Milwaukee, WI. Founded by Melissa Sue Anderson and Morgan “Mo” Williams, they strive to bring you a unique performance incorporating concert and commercial dance. SueMo will take the audience on a journey of movement that is edgy, funky, organic, and diverse.

The Company is a fusion of Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip-Hop dancer’s with the ultimate goal of versatility in their movement vocabulary. The diversity between directors and dancers provides a thought provoking and lasting experience.  SueMo Dance Company debuted on August 3, 2014 to a sold out show in Milwaukee, WI. 


Creative Team

  Melissa Sue Anderson originates from Brick, NJ and began her dancetraining early at The American Academy of Ballet and Standing Ovation School of Dance. As a teenager Melissa Sue spent her time touring nationally with Tremaine Dance Conventions, starting as their official Ballet Assistant, but soon moved into other styles assisting such choreographers as Doug Caldwell, Desiree Robbins,and Liz Imperio. In 2004 she moved to Los Angeles to complete the scholarship program at EDGE Performing Art Center and signed with top dance agency BLOC.  In her professional career Melissa has been blessed with  versatile opportunities including Tokyo Disney,commercials, music videos, and was a featured dancer in the film“The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.” She also enjoyscompanywork and has performed with several companies including BHUMN atthe Ballet Austin, Seamless Dance Theater, and JADDCo. Melissa isa recognized adjudicator for various dance competitions including StarQuest. Melissa’s passion also extends to teaching and choreography. She has taught and choreographed forstudios across the nation including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and now, Milwaukee.

Mo, A Chicago native, attended Chicago Academy for the Arts where he had the pleasure of studying under Randy Duncan, Guillermo Leyva, and Anna Paskveska. At 18, he received his first contract with Dance Kaleidoscope and from there he danced with numerous concert companies such as Momenta Dance Company, Joel Hall & Dancers, Chicago Dance Crash, Deeply Rooted, and Eisenhower Dance. Mo has also been featured on “SYTYCD” Season 10 and was an L.A Finalist Season 11. In addition, he has taught for many studios, dance convention, and workshops across the Midwest and is currently on staff at Studio One Dance Company and Co coached The World Champion Energizers Dance Team. Most recently Mo is a new member of IMMA Beast and has signed with Movement Talent Agency.

MORGAN 'MO' WILLIAMS

FOUNDER/CO-DIRECTOR

Christa studied at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and received her B.S. in Movement Science from the School of Kinesiology graduating with distinction and University Honors. Christa trained under Angie Hahn, Marie Rabey, Addison O'Day, Gerald O'Day, and Jacob Lascu.  She pursued additional training at Joffrey Midwest, ABT Detroit, and the National Ballet School of Canada while also earning a Grade 6 Cecchetti Council Certification. Christa has danced with companies including ArtLab J Dance, Next Level Dance Company, SueMo Dance Company, and Danceworks Performance Company, Milwaukee. In addition to dancing, Christa has been teaching and choreographing for the past 8 years. She has taught numerous master classes, intensives, and provided guest choreography for studios throughout the Midwest and Canada. Her contemporary choreography was selected and showcased at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival 2014, 2015, Detroit Dance City Festival 2015, Detroit Dance Film Festival 2015, Brighton Dance Festival 2015, Dance Canvas Atlanta 2016, and RADfest Midwest 2016. She is currently the Associate  Director of SueMo Dance Company in Milwaukee, WI as well as a teacher and choreographer at Studio One Dance Company.

  From Macomb, MI, began her dance training at Mary Skiba’s School of Dance at the age of three. Joining their competitive team, she has performed the works by choreographers Chris Jacobsen, Shauna Zambelli, Gev Manoukian, Matt Dorame, Jen Osorio-Pendleton, and DJ Guthrie. In her early teen years she traveled with LA Dance Magic’s company as their Teen National title winner, touring the country alongside choreographers Jackie Sleight, DJ Guthrie, Matt Dorame, and Christian Vincent. In addition, she has assisted at conventions including West Coast Dance Explosion and Hall of Fame. Outside of High School, Tara has joined SueMo Dance Company, a contemporary-based dance company out in Milwaukee, WI, founded by Morgan “Mo” Williams and Melissa Sue Anderson. With them, she has performed across the Midwest and was recently appointed Company Manager.

Emily grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin and began her dance training at Northern Dance Academy. At a young age she studied ballet, Jazz, and Lyrical, moving into styles such as Hip Hop and Contemporary. While training she had the pleasure of dancing competitively and traveling the Midwest, continuing to hone her craft. Emily Attended the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee where she graduated with her Bachelor of fine arts in Dance.  At the university level she studied post-modern techniques, Ballet, Jazz, African, and the Alexander Technique, as well as performing in over 10 pieces both faculty and student works. Collaboration and working with but not limited to Dani Kuepper, Luc Vanier, Maria Gillespie, and Simone Ferro. Professionally Emily has been dancing with SueMo Dance Company for 2 years as both a company member and choreographer, and has been appointed director of the SueMo II Company. Most recently she also took part in The Gina Laurenzi Project, where she was a featured dancer. In addition to preforming Emily has taught and choreographed at Lake Shore Dance Academy for 3 years.
